After our friend went missing during a solo paddle in the ocean, with no life vest or tracking device, we are now wearing this vest. It does NOT impede my stroke at all. I have hulied and was able to swim under my boat to the other side and able to reach and pull my boat back over. On hotter days, I just dunk before jumping on my boat. Problem solved. Been wearing it a couple weeks and feel like my confidence is improved having the vest on.

Very nearly perfect

Best fitting PFD I’ve tried in decades. I’m an all-season paddling addicted, height challenged woman with a short torso and narrow shoulders. Crossed fingers and bought the smallest size, then cinched everything tight and was pleased at the comfort. My ancient Stohlquist has delightful neoprene padding under the shoulder straps. Probably due to the cost, can’t find anyone offering that now. But the soft strap covers here are almost as good. One side won’t stay put during a long paddle so I might have to shorten the straps for less bulk. All in all, very pleased with my purchase. If only the site had allowed me to sign up for emails for a discount prior to my order. Receiving one afterward was disappointingly a bit late.
