This ended up being exactly the piece I needed for summer in the alpine. It’s a great lightweight sun hoodie with UPF 40, which is clutch when you’re exposed above treeline all day. The odor-resistant treatment keeps it from getting funky even when I’m working hard and sweating. Dries fast, layers easily under a shell, and the hood fits clean under a helmet. Simple, functional, and packs down to nothing.

Durable. All purpose.

Day 1 I wore this up a hot and grueling climbers' approach trail. Day 2 I wore it crossing glaciers and then as my base layer up the climb. I figured the offwidths and chimneys would shred it but I can't even tell now that I washed it. Great base layer too.

Sun blocker

I can attest that I would have severe sunburns without this hoody because sun screen just doesn't quite cut it. This is comfortable to wear all day and gets the job done.
