If you've got King Kong grip strength you may be able to us these. Otherwise....I don't know.

Hi. I bought a four pack of these to try on my salmon planer boards. I guessed they may be easier to use because of the rounded head and their larger size compared to the OR clips I usually use. My thought was that since the Alphaboardz people rounded the clip head they must be cognizant of wrapping the braid around the head to increase gripping power. In addition to increasing the gripping power by wrapping, they apparently also sought to increase the gripping power by increasing the spring compressive strength to the point that mere mortals struggle to open the clip. I've moved the spring to it's lowest strength setting and the clip is still ridiculously hard to open. In fairness, I am in my 60's and don't have my youthful grip strength but keep in mind I can open the ORs. This clip looks like a good idea on the website but I think you'll find that the spring strength negates any advantage of this clip over ORs. Too bad.

After attaching these to the board and seen how well they worked I changed the ones I use for the downriggers to these. They are hard to open but they hold when trolling without issues. Very impressive. Thanks, Bill
