Made by Musicians, for Musicians
The flugabone was a popular design among brass players in the 1970's and early 1980's, combining the response and feel of the valve trombone with the warmth of the flugelhorn.

Awesome Horn
Pretty cool instrument. Its sound is reminiscent of a trombone, though it more closely resembles a bass trumpet in character, at the same time, that's coming from someone that plays euphonium. Intonation has been solid so far, the low register speaks particularly well . I appreciate the main tuning slide with the trigger mechanism, which allows for on-the fly adjustments especially helpful given that the third valve slide is somewhat uncomfortable and difficult to pull. The lacquer finish appears to be of good quality overall. I did notice a few rough spots on the valve casings, but they are minor, not visually distracting, and should not affect performance.
Although I had heard that the valves on this model can be inconsistent, valves 1 and 3 are currently operating very smoothly. Valve 2 felt slightly sluggish after the initial oiling, but I'm hopeful it will improve with continued use.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I would recommend this horn, it's fun to play, responsive, and offers a rich, appealing sound. Customer service is exceptional. Keith is wonderful to work with.
