Dr. Drydens Activate Glass Media - Grade 1 - Fine

Easy to install and seems to work great. Time will tell as I have only run for 8 hrs as of this writing but I did notice that in my Sand Dollar SD60 that the starting pressure is reading 11 psi where with clean sand it is around 15 psi.

Coming from using sand in my sand filter this glass media is much better. The water is more clear and it's noticeable in both the shallow and deep water. It looks cleaner. I'm curious if removing finer particles helps with algae. Today, when I checked the chlorine I had 0.5 ppm but the water was beautiful. Naturally, I brought the chlorine up to 11.5% of the cya level but I'm hopeful that the glass media will assist with algae control. For me, this stuff gives me peace of mind. Last year was a nightmare for keeping the pool but I think its going to be a different story this year and that is what I needed.

Out of the 10 bags I ordered two had a hole and I lost a lot of the material carrying them into my backyard, I didn’t realize till after the fact. It wasn’t a large hole, but it is so fine i lost about half of one bag and a little over a quarter with the other, this company made everything right and I would purchase from them again!
