Hohner M2005 Marine Band Deluxe Diatonic Harmonica

Happy I chose the Deluxe

I have a Hohner Blues Harp and a Special 20 but wanted something a little louder and a little less dark sounding than both of my harmonicas tend to be. I'm happy I chose the Marine Band Deluxe. It has the traditional pearwood comb and screws vs nails for fine tuning. My Deluxe arrived perfectly tuned and ready to play. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone. I also wanted to say that The Music Stand was great to deal with. They shipped my harmonica out almost immediately and it arrived in a couple of days.

Updating and improving an old classic

The Marine Band Deluxe is a great improvement on the classic Marine Band. I find the sound just great for replicating old blues styles. It is a step up from the Special 20 by being more responsive and easier to do bends. I am still trying to decide if I like it more than the Crossover due to the sound. Playing the Deluxe is a joy, it is easy to hit all the notes and came nicely tuned ready to play. But you be the judge.

Nice improvement on original Marine Band

As somebody who has had to pay to have old marine bands converted from nails to screws to be able to clean and service them, this is a welcome improvement. You can spend the extra money now and you get the harmonica with screws, more comfortable, better sealed comb, and an open back for better projection. Mine came in perfect tune, no issues. Great harmonica. My only complaint would be the rising price of Hohner Harmonicas in general.
