Horrible! This shampoo absolutely fried me and my daughter's ends. We are natural type 4a and 4b. It is so harsh and drying. As soon as I work up a lather my hair instantly mats up, same with daughter's hair. After 2nd lathering we looked like we had giant locs. The hair also felt too fragile to handle. Now I will say the conditioner does an excellent job of detangling the mess that the shampoo caused but it did not impart enough moisture to undo what the shampoo stripped. It's recommended to lather with this twice and we wash our hair weekly. We have tried this regimen twice (first time was using this after the clarifying shampoo which was a huge mistake) and same results in the end: dried, tangled ends that feel like hay. This is with us deep conditioning with plenty of the conditioner, using the spray leave in, and serum.
We have filtered, soft water so I know that's not the issue as well as get our ends professionally trimmed every 3 months. Our ends didn't feel this bad before using this line. The only other time I experienced something like this was when I was over using a chelating shampoo when we used to have hard water, it fried my ends too.
I just don't understand how a black natural stylist can create, recommend, and market the use of something so harsh and drying to a demographic that struggles with dry hair. It truly baffles me. Needless to say we will probably need to get more than a dusting at our next appointment if these now rough, fried ends can't be revived. I do not recommend this shampoo.
