Men's Garett Plain Toe Oxford

Nicely built shoes, good looking, stiff heel though

This is my third pair of the same Oxford shoe. I love them, thus owning three pairs over the years. They are comfortable, last a long time, and look just stylish enough to wear at work without looking formal. This latest pair had a few changes- there is a leather tag on the tongue and the sole has a bit of a different tread on it. Overall seemed like the same shoe I’ve loved for years. Yet I’m struggling with it. The fit is great, comfort is ok, but the heel is tearing up my foot badly. I’m hoping it’s still a break in issue, but it’s bad. I’ve worn these for about three days and the heel of the shoe is digging into the back of my foot so badly, I’ve had to take a day or two off from wearing them just to heal a bit. Compared to my previous pair, there seems to be less padding back there and it’s a lot stiffer. I’m hoping it gets better soon as I like everything else about the shoe, but if it doesn’t I may have wasted money on a shoe I can’t wear.
