Stations of the Cross...I am 75. As a little girl, our family attended the Stations of The Cross at St. Mary every Friday evening during Lent. My eyes, my ears, my nose became entranced by the story of Jesus' great suffering. Everything seemed very mysterious to me at that age. The soft candle light in the worship space, purple covered statues, windows, the large crucifix, the fourteen large stations along the walls in Roman numerals, a Stations of the Cross booklet in my hands to follow and participate, the quiet anticipation waiting to begin. Jesus' story of His suffering, the words, the prayers and the songs...brought tears to my eyes. As a grown woman in the winter of my life I long for Lent to begin again. The Blessed Is She Station cards are simple and beautiful at the same time. I am preparing my prayer table tonight. Getting things ready. Rising early on the days of Lent I walk Christ's journey with Him, I will hold one of the Stations prayer cards and repeat the words throughout my day. This is my hope...stay close to Christ. To trust in Him no matter what that day brings. I love being Catholic. I am grateful to begin again and touch the garment of Jesus.

The artwork is a wee bit primitive and doesn't necessarily lend itself to visio divina. But the words are beautiful. I will definitely use these for private devotion.
