Much to my chagrin I must admit that these filters do perform noticably better than standard Hario ones in that they don't clog as easily and allow much more playing room in grind size. Having to fold them yourself is a bother but I can understand why it's necessary as there is no way to get their shape flattened to 2 dimensions pre-folded without ruining the levelled bottom. That being said, I expected the creases to be better for the high price; they are all creased in the same direction even though you don't fold some of them that way. They still help with folding accurately but if the creases aligned with the actual fold, the filter paper would fold itself almost aurimatically and you wouldn't be put in the silly situation of having to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to fold your coffee filters...
