FH-6 Fluid Head

I’ve been using FH-6 with a 27-60x85 spotting scope on a week-long bird watching trip in Minnesota. So far the head has been great. I like the ability to gently lock the tilt but still be able to micro-move it without it being jerky. The pan lock isn’t as easy to set to micro-adjust, but can still be set with a little finesse. I also appreciate that the Arca Swiss base has stops that will not allow my spotting scope to slide off accidentally. I have hiked about couple miles in total while carrying the tripod withe the scope attached to the FH-6 and it never gave me any indication of loosening. Another good feature is that the handle can fold pretty flat to the tripod so that the tripod and head still fit in my tripod case. I’m really impressed with how smooth everything operates and was able to watch two Eagles fighting in the air without having the scope field jerky and lose the track. Also, not mentioned in the literature that I found, is that there is a bubble level installed on the head which has been essential for me leveling my tripod.

Mind Blown

This Precision Fluid Head instantly improved my glassing game. So smooth and sturdy. Used it this past weekend for the first time glassing Desert Big Horn sheep and it did not disappoint.
