Did the trick

My 10yrs+ MacBookPro crashed, losing all my data. I'm so pleased to have been able to replace the SSD with this 1TB drive, reboot via the cloud, then rebuild my laptop from my last (10 months old!!!) full Time Machine back-up. (Fortunately I hadn't done much since November '24.) YES: lesson learned! But the whole process was do-able, and I'm now fully up and running again for a fraction of the cost of upgrading.
