Too bulky and loose

I had high hopes for these bibs. They're the first bibs that I've bought in years, outside of team kits. I was surprised how bulky/baggy and poor fitting they are. They don't fit snug, with gaps in the crotch which is aggravating saddle sores. The chamois is noticeably thick and stiff, but I think I could live with that if the bibs fit better. The straps are too light and stretchy which doesn't help when the shorts are so loose. The straps also require a bit of work to lay flat. They tend to roll up when you pull them on. Seems they're too thin and lightweight. That said, the quality seems to be very good. Well made, just sizing and material tweaks that would make it work better for me. I used the sizing guide on the website, dropping my usual size large down to a medium for this purchase, but maybe I need a small for these. Hard to imagine they're sized two sizes bigger than the dozen bibs and skinsuits that I have in my closet. I wouldn't mind trying a size small pair if there's a way to exchange at this point.
