French military pickaxe

The pickaxe I received was made in France and is of indeterminate age. It seems to have been manufactured anywhere from the early 1950s to the early 1980s; the style of head on these French pickaxes didn't change much in that time period. The quality of the steel is exceptional. The wooden handle is very dry due to decades of storage, so if you plan on preserving it I'd definitely recommend coating it in some kind of wood oil. All in all a very solid vintage tool.
