Thick and luxurious!
This short feels luxurious!!! -and so well made! It does run very small though. I ended up ordering the same size as my underwear which I thought I was buying large for extra bun coverage…

The extra 2" did the trick!
The 8" inseam on the compressive shorts worked so much better for me than the 6" version. I love Branwyn fabric, and I really wanted to love the shorts as well as the bras and undies. The 6" version hit at in the widest part of my thighs, though, and I was constantly tugging on them. Plus the waist rolled. Well, both issues went away with the 8" version! The legs don't ride up since they hit a tad lower, and I don't know why, but the waist (same size!) doesn't roll, either. I'm very happy with the 8" shorts ... they're wonderful for yoga, under dresses, and just hanging out. That said, I would 100% vote for a 10" or even 12" version to get closer to the knees. I reeeeeally wish someone would make merino shorts/leggings that hit just above the knees (or just below them), and I especially hope it will be Branwyn that finally does!
5'6", 155 lbs, medium build, typically size 10-ish pants ... I like size L in these shorts. They're snug and compressive in the waist, but not so tight that I can't sleep in them. I actually wasn't looking for the compression as much as just a nice fit overall.

Best shorts
I was excited when these shorts came out and have now bought two pairs. They are the absolute best for all my summer activities: gardening, hiking, workout, or wearing under breezy dresses. I do wish they came in a 10 inch length and with pockets, but this is really the best shorts I've found. They don't need washed for like a week of hiking. The seamless construction especially through the crotch really is so much more comfortable than my other brands of merino shorts. I also really prefer the high waist on these.
