Great tool, worthless pedestal

The tool feels sturdy and built to last. Sure it is aluminium, a stiff breeze will dent and scratch it, but I suspect it will take a lot of punishment before its functionality is affected. Only real criticism is that the pedestal feels like an afterthought. It's "useful" insofar as you can set the tool upright with whatever is on it... But it's nothing more than a flat plate with a rod sticking out, a piece of scrap wood and a nail does the same thing. Having the option to attach the handle to a taller, articulated arm (like a carver vise), would be so so much better.

Nice and solid aluminum and steel. Nothing loose or rattling. A good value for the price.
