A replacement for my over 50 year old favorite rollerball

I bought a gold Cross rollerball in the late 70's. I used it routinely all that time since. It was a constant companion and part of my everyday carry gear. It was used to sign documents that have been corner stone events in my adult life. I had hope of passing it to an heir. Unfortunately, it broke in a part that supported the refill. Cross made a noble effort to find a replacement part, but to no avail and the Cross repair staff could not repair the broken part. So, much like me, the time arrived to retire my old companion. In a totally surprise gesture by the Cross customer service group, they gave me a gift card and suggested I shop their offerings to find a suitable replacement. Lo and behold!! I found the Century II Chrome Rollerball Pen. It has the exact balance, weight and writing feel of my retired friend. That gesture was far above and beyond the call of any obligation I would expect under the circumstances.
