A Chinese Apothecary

If you're looking for sugary citrus or fruit, turn away! You've walked into a Chinese apothecary - the smell of incense and resin is in the air. As you walk towards the jars of dried roots and herbs, there is a combination of a slight bitterness tempered by the open door of the shop. You can tell this shop had fruit in it last week, but this week, all that remains is some sticky mandarin sap made a little sour by age. This fragrance feels heavy to my nose, nostalgic for the apothecaries I used to visit as a child, and strong. It stayed on my skin and clothing all day and had a moderage sillage. It's so very interesting and so very much not what the notes lead you to believe it would smell like.
