Beautifully made, they have turned a ordinary looking shed into something altogether more interesting.

The fixtures ie screws are low quality. Even with pilot holes they are quite soft and fracture. One of the hinges is incredibly stiff.

I bought these to replace the very badly worn T hinges on the stairs door in my cottage. I don't think that the ones being replaced are the origional 1840's ones but they are certainly a lot older than I am and I'm an OAP!. I chose Suffolk Latch Co. after researching for high quality suppliers. The pewter style hinges arrived much earlier than expected and on initial inspection are both of excellent quality, with no freeplay in the hinge joint and pin, and look impressive. They are considerably thicker and longer than those they replace and I have high hopes for them when they are fitted. The round headed screws that accompany them look suitable for the job whist not being so excessively long so as to protrude through the door. Their pewter finish matches that of the hinges. When I have finished removing the many layers of lead paint that have been applied to the door over the years and replaced it with modern death free paint, I shall be able to comment on how the door hanging went, but I suspect that it will be fine due to the high build quality of the hinges. Well worth the money!
