Redington - N690

Just received, so have not yet put this knife through the paces, but the construction, grind, and materials are all excellent. I was interested in the Redington when it was first released in Magnacut, but could not justify the cost. Having an N690 steel option at a more affordable price sealed the deal. I’ve had the GMF4 in the past (also N690) and that thing was a beast: I used it for camp tasks and it performed excellently. Like the GMF4, this was razor sharp right out of the box! My only critique is that, out of the box, the kydex sheath had far too much tension: way more force needed to reasonably sheath and unsheath. I ended up adding an extra rubber spacer to the bolts on either side of the mouth of the sheath, so the tension is now substantially better: it still holds very securely, but I can actually insert and deploy. That from-the-box sheath adjustment issue aside, the kydex sheath is excellent: very well made, for which TRC is well known!
