My plot is located in central Wisconsin. We prepped and planted on 8/22 and 8/23. Perfect day, cool, off and on drizzle. Stopped back up to inspect on Labor Day to find 1” to 2” growth with our seeds. Since this area never had crops, I was happy to see the early results. I used a hand bag type planter which may have contributed to the sporadic bare spots. Still, for a fist time food plot planter, I thought it was doing well.
Could you tell me if the seed I purchased is an annual or perennial grass?

Seed that wasn’t eaten by Doves germinated and grew quick. Once it was 3” high, groundhogs devastated it and rabbits eat it during the night. The deer have just found it. Still trying to eradicate the groundhogs when they show up on my Tactacam but haven’t had any luck. Will do a bigger plot next year.

I threw it down on the ground and walked away. A couple weeks later it was sprouting! Very happy with the product, hopefully it will be developed in a couple more months for rifle season!
