My New Zealand Lemonade Tree has only been in the ground a week but so far so good. Can already see new growth. They say keep them in pots, but mine is in the ground - I know a guy in 9b who has one and his survived the recent hard freezes uncovered (with only a wind barrier). For summer, I will use shallow root plumerias to shield in from direct Texas sun (we have the largest Sun here). Ask me again in 3 years.

Two weeks after arriving the NZ Lemon is a good, strong tree. Potted it up into a 2 gallon fabric bag pot with US Citrus’ mineral based potting soil (which was one of the sweetest mixes I’ve encountered). Under grow lights in a sunny window as it is still cold outside here in New England in late March. Dark green leaves. No leaves dropped. I’m impressed!
