Finally a Legere Reed I can play

I have played on fibercane reeds create by my teacher Artemus Edwards in collaboration with Bob Stevens & Sons since the early 1970s (Luckily I have a lifetime supply!). I could never play on the Legere classic but for me both the Signature Medium Soft and Medium are great. The fibercane reed requires a looser embouchure.

Legere Signature Bassoon Reeds are a game changer!

I have been playing Legere Bassoon Reeds for several years with good success. I have recently tried the new Signature Bassoon Reeds in medium soft. I am an amateur player with limited practice time and embouchure endurance. They are a game changer for me because medium soft strength allows me to play a rehearsal/performance with excellent tone quality and complete control of dynamics (even sustained pp) and all the nuances of a musical performance. They are the best reeds I have ever played!

Med-soft doesn't hold up

Based on the reviews, I decided to first try the new signature med-soft as an intermediate player in a community band as people often commented the med was too hard. I found that the med-soft plays well in the lower register, but middle E/F tend to drop and it needs a lot of support to play notes in upper register. Based on this initial experience, I'm going to try a med.
