Classic Brass Interior Mortise Lock Set With Thumbturn

Had to flip the lock mechanism which was tricky and Hardwick & Sons were super helpful in insuring was provided the correct lock for a 125 year old house. :)

Solid product and service

The mortise lock dimensions conform to the original (and authentic) antique mortise lock that I replaced (circa 1919, or thereabouts). It was hard to find a lock mechanism that conformed to the original dimensions and I’m glad H&S takes pride in stocking the correct product(s) for old houses. Delivery was quick and I was given a tracking number and updates while the order was en route. Great service!

The item is well suited for my needs and is better than great in looks and substance. The only problem I have is the E clamp securing the crescent turn to the escutcheon is impossible to remove without breaking it. Without removing it I could not use my existing doorknob/thumb lock escutcheon. I think I have a work around, but won’t know until I try securing the new e-clamp I purchased separately. I found the manufacturer's customer service response to my inquiry on this issue unsatisfactory.
