Moving from Mach 2 Forza to Shift WB

I searched for a long time to find my next paddle—one that would be everything I love about the Mach 2 Forza (spin, control, touch, fast in the hands) while also giving me more power when it’s time to give my opponent more velocity. Lots of paddles claim to be this, yet they require you to “downgrade” from the Mach 2 Forza’s ability to work a soft game, which is my style of play. I took a chance on the Shift WB based on Volair’s pitch, the specs, and reviews. I’m am absolutely thrilled with this paddle so far—it’s been about two weeks and I’m already experiencing a new dimension in my play that’s helping to win more games. I may experiment with lead tape based on reviews I’ve watched, but out-of-the-box, this paddle is fantastic.

Loving it so far

Hello from Perth Australia. Having been playing with the ctrl 2 Forza WB since it was released but just wanted to try something with a bit more power. Had tried a 14mm of another brand but want to stick with Volair because of the quality, design and insta fun. 4th week and no buyers remorse. Have definitely got more power and I’m enjoying the different feel from a thinner paddle as well. Works well for my game which came from years of tennis but also needs a bit of grunt from the paddle due to the dodgey “old man” knees. Would recommend.

Shifting my focus

I have been a long standing fan of the mach 2 forza for its control prowess. So I was intrigued to add the power aspect to my game as 4.0+ games ramp up power with control. It took getting used to the pop, but once I did, my game elevated quickly. Resets are smooth, control is accurate, and the instant power from anywhere on the court made singles and doubles more electric. Happy to not worry about consistency in paddle performance. I can fully trust the shift to act the same across any shot genre of shot selection I choose. Went ahead and bought another as back up :)
