tricky fit

I've been eyeing Sheila swimwear for over a year but it was a bit out of my price range so when some of the original colours came on sale, I snapped them up. I'm a size AU 18 so would usually buy a 2XL but according to Sheila's size guide, my measurements put me right in the middle of the XL range. The website says they fit up to AU 24 with 2XL being the biggest size so I felt fairly confident buying an XL. But it's a bit of a stretch to do up and once on, there's a bit of visible spillage. Plus, somehow it sits high or short (even with the straps let out all the way) which elongates my torso, even when worn with the high waisted shorts. It actually feels pretty comfortable and supportive but I will probably only wear it with a rashie because it doesn't look good and I don’t feel confident in it. So no picture here. I'm not shy or averse to being seen in a 2 piece either! I just don't think the bathers are really designed for plus sizes, even though the size range is wider than some.
