Great geometry, lightweight

I got this for my 8 year old. She’s about 50” tall. The bike might be just a bit big for her, but fits her better than the 20” Zulu 3 she had. I dropped handlebar stem to lowest spot. Also this 2024 Zulu 4 with carbon bars, carbon crank, setup tubeless, and aluminum pedals weighs in at just 22.1 lb, which is almost exactly the same weight as her few years older Zulu 3 with plastic pedals. I cut the carbon bars down to about 610mm, which should still be enough width to grow into for a few years before she goes up to 26” wheel frame size. She’s kind of a timid rider but the 24” wheels has helped give more confidence rolling over stuff. I think the head angle is perfect. It’s not overly slack and gives less aggressive riders more confidence. She doesn’t have any problems climbing with it. Tighter switchbacks she has to get off the bike typically though, which isn’t a big deal.

Kid/Rider Tested and Approved

I ordered the Zulu 4 for my 9 year old son. It was a step up from his last Trek bike. He loves the bike and hasn't gotten off of it. A friend recommended Prevelo for kids. I ordered the colored pedals, grips and got the name sticker to personalize his bike. The order took a little longer that expected to fill, to make up for that Prevelo sent my son a jersey. Pretty awesome company.

Great first mountain bike!

Porter is almost 9 years old and this is his first official mountain bike. He had ridden his 20" bike a handful of times on a mix of gravel and single track doing around 6-8 miles. He did his first ride Saturday on this Prevelo Zulu Four. We did 10.6 miles and he loved it. The bike seems perfect so far!
