Great for Subaru Differentials
After hearing horror stories about getting Subaru differential plugs out, I decided to go with Gripedge 8mm and 10mm hex bits. At first glance they don't seem too different from regular hex, but there's a bit of a flare towards the base which, I think, tightens the fit - behaving a bit like a stud extractor. Although a bit pricey, they certainly worked well, and I'm glad to have them in my toolbox - even if I never use them for anything other than the Subaru. After my few uses, the sharp hex corners still look brand new - apparently made of very hard dark gray steel. With regard to the 8mm plugs on the Subaru - the hex recesses on these plugs are not very deep, and there can be a tendency for the tool to slip out of the plug.. In removing them, it's best to use pure torque. This will keep the bit fully seated in the plug recess. In order to do so, pull on the strong arm handle as you normally would, but simultaneously push on the head of the strong arm - this will keep the bit properly aligned with (square to) the plug, and prevent the bit from slipping out of the not-very-deep plug recess. Use the same process when using a torque wrench to reinstall the plug.

Pesky hex differential bolt removed with ease
Purchased one of these to remove a front differential plug (10mm hex) on my LX470. It was rusty and crusty and wouldn’t budge but I got this in there and a small breaker bar and it broke free in a second. Highly recommend

Get these
The one 10mm that doesnt disappear. Doesn't slip and will break any hex loose. I had to warranty one of my sockets and Grip Edge made it absolutely painless. One picture and I had a new socket in two days. I'll be a customer for life.
