Perfect solution that significantly improves a pre 2026 Model Y suspension.
I had been looking at YouTube videos where the owners had the latest year model suspension fitted and thought it would be a great asset to my 2022 Model Y. After checking prices it became clear that it was not a cheap job if you needed them fitting by a professional which I did ( too old to fit them myself) Fitting them yourself is probably an easy job but if you can’t then I found it a) difficult to buy the part from Tesla ( they wouldn’t fit them) and b) not a lot of garages are prepared to fit them as it’s “An EV” and if they do it’s expensive. Looking online for more information I found the OnAir suspension kit. I spoke to Tom and he was only too pleased to take me for a ride in his M3 Performance (2019 I think) that it was fitted too. The ride was significantly better than my MY and, for one who also owned an early M3 Performance, it seemed magical. The overall price of the OnAir, including the fitting, is more than the latest 2025 uprated shocks etc from Tesla but now I’ve had the OnAir system fitted I can whole heartedly recommend it as an option. The ride is so much smoother, quieter with none of the harshness associated with the factory fitted suspension. The fitter's, two very nice guys, came and fitted it at my home in just 1 , yes one, day. Most garages had quoted me two to three days to fit the Tesla updated ( not uprated ) parts let alone a full air suspension kit. Overall I can say I’m very satisfied with the company, the kit, and the service provided. As an aside - there are 3 height setting available and all four shock absorbers are fully adjustable should I feel so inclined to try a track day!
