Toyota 4Runner Removable Trail Armor - Magnetic Paint Protection

The Mek magnet body armor for the 5th gen 4Runner worked perfectly at preventing pinstripes. Not having to worry about potential body damage from stray brush allowed me to enjoy running trails a lot more. The ghost camo pattern blends well with my metallic grey metallic 4Runner and looks amazing! The matte finish gives a unique, rugged aesthetic. The quality, finish, and fit of the magnetic panels is top notch. Installation was a breeze and took about an hour including cleaning the vehicle prior to application. The magnetic panels hold well to the body but are also not too strong that they will cause damage when I want to remove them. I drove on the highway and had no problems with them coming loose. The only pieces I had trouble with were the ones that go on the lower part of the doors. They would not stay on so I just left them off. The lower part of the doors is concave and I am guessing that is why the magnets would not hold. I also wish there was a piece cut out for the gas tank door. I actually cut a piece from the leftover magnet sheet to have something to put there . It will do but my cuts are not as clean or precise like the other panels. I also left off the magnetic panel that goes on the C pillar. I didn’t feel like cutting it to allow space for the TRD Off Road badge and I want to keep the badge on the vehicle. Overall, this is a great solution for preventing pinstripe and surface damage to the sides of your vehicle when off road. I am glad Mek includes the 4Runner in their selection as I don’t see too many options like this for Toyotas. The protection gives me piece of mind when I’m out there and bonus that it looks awesome!
