These shorts are excellent, the liner prevents chafing really well and the phone pocket doesnt drag the waistband down. In terms of pockets i always feel that running specific shorts are always lacking in storage. These shorts have a zip pocket for maybe a key and some cards or 2-3 gells and a back pocket at the rear waist for another 2-3 gels. The real benefit is that phone pocket on the liner. I typically wear medium running shorts and felt that while these fot they may be a little too snug. 5/5 quality running short.

Nice materials used for the outer, the inner liner feels a little "budget". I got black and coral colors, both look nice. Not too short, not too long in a Medium, my usual size. The drawstrings are strangely long, hanging nearly the length of the shorts when untied! I may shorten those. I like the small zippered "pill pocket" on the rear right side for keys - they don't bounce and jingle. It could alternatively fit 1-2 GU pouches, or a couple credit cards, ID, cash - but snug. The rear waist pocket is divided into 2 separate compartments, but with stitched openings that prevent anything wider than two fingers to fit in. A narrow energy bar, or a few gels, Blocks, etc. But that really leaves just the thigh pocket on the inner liner for things like a phone, wallet, etc. You'll have to stack your large items - this pocket only appears on the left leg - none on the right, which may make for a bit of imbalance. Overall nice shorts with a couple of quirks.
