CYC Photon Gen 2 Mid Drive Conversion Kit

I was disapointed that I received the wrong cranks and zero instructions for installation. The Youtube installation videos I could find were a little help, but left out a lot. Since it took so long getting the crank arm mistake settled, I am still waiting on cranks from another company and after two weeks I still can not use the trike.

This thing is amazing. I had a Photon Gen 1 for a couple years and recently upgraded to a Gen 2. They have the same amazing torque sensing and straightforward install. The Gen 2 can consistently output more power- it can do 750w constant no problem at all. The Gen 1 would overheat trying to do that and the realistic constant max was 600w or so. Really happy with this Gen 2 kit! And Golden Motor shipped fast with all the necessary parts.

Replacement for the photon Gen 1 motor

I got this to replace the Gen 1 motor which started making noise after 3000 miles over 1 year and I hope this one lasts at least twice as long. I have about 200 miles on it now and it is finally set up as I like. The motor is powerful and quiet, and the standard display is much more readable. The only unresolved issue is with the brake cutoff. I have the brake cutoff installed so the motor doesn’t try to start up when I am at a stop light with my feet resting on the pedals, but it takes the motor about 2-3 s to kick in after the brake is released, even if I just tap the brake while riding. I’d there a way to minimize this time lag?
