Elgato Prompter XL

This teleprompter works wonderfully, I'm very pleased how it has improved our shoots/filming. We did lots of research and shopping around and settled on this product, I'm really glad that we did. The Elgato XL prompter has a large screen for professional setups that require a subject to be further from the camera, we love the monitor being removable and able to connect via usb, the prompter is made of high quality materials and is easy to set up/break down. There's a lot to like about this and we're very happy with it so far.

This prompter only works with devices that have Elgato software installed. It is not plug and play. There is is only one USB-C port on the monitor, which supplies both power and video. It only works with the Elgato USB-C cable included, which is too short for our needs, and can only be replaced by a specific Elgato cable, not just any USB-C. Even if you adapt HDMI to USB-C, the prompter will not display your source device. It requires the source device to have Elgato software, period. Our team needs a plug-and-play solution that doesn't involve proprietary software. However, the physical design of the prompter was lightweight and compact, yet seemed durable and transportable.
