Nice Purse, strap too short

This is a lovely purse and is just the right size for me; however, the strap is actually too short to use as a crossbody strap. It makes the purse hit just above my waist, which is quite awkward. I purchased the guitar strap to use in place of the one that comes with the purse, which is the correct length for a cross-body, however, it is just so chunky and wide that I do not like it. I think some refinement with regard to the strap that comes with this purse is greatly needed.
