My new favorite. Well almost new. I’ve had it for a minute already. I don’t usually write reviews but all the products I have tried from Cacao Adventures (nibs, whole beans, 3 or more different cacao pastes) have been excellent. I am hooked; I’m afraid maybe literally.

As someone who works with chocolate and cacao professionally, I'm a tough audience. I bought the Awajún Private Reserve for my own enjoyment—and it genuinely impressed me. The aroma is alive. Not roasted flat, not perfumed—it genuinely smells like standing in a forest. Smooth, clean melt on the tongue with no graininess or wax. The flavor develops in layers: deep earth upfront, tropical fruit emerging underneath, with a refined cacao nib intensity that's integrated rather than harsh. The longer you sit with it, the more it reveals. I tried it three ways. As a ceremonial drink, it's exceptional—clean, sustained energy and focus with a genuine reflective quality. Chopped into yogurt, it behaves like premium cacao nibs and adds a tasty energy boost. But the best experience was letting a half disk melt slowly on my tongue—that's where the full flavor architecture shows itself. This is top-tier ceremonial cacao from a producer I trust. Highly recommend.
