A good starting point

I bought this for an 11 year old I tutor and not for my high school Spanish 1 class. My tutoree claims to not like the book, but I had her read aloud and then I asked her the questions at the end of each chapter and she was able to understand them easily and respond quickly using complete sentences. I appreciate that there is a good amount of repetition of vocabulary.
