Suits the content
I liked the morally grey antagonists, and it was a relief that things didn't come to Brynn as easily as in TotW

Phenomenal second book in this series
This was such a fantastic second book of this series! We pick up shortly after book one with Cenric and Brynn's presence being requested by Cenric's former king. Brynn has nothing but bad feelings anout the visit and Cenric is reserved, but the visit has to happen. The king is boisterous and clearly something is wrong here, but the author does an amazing job of keeping the truth hidden.
I loved the twists and turns of this story with the political intrigue. The love that the characters are growing into was so sweet and endearing. It was so great to see these characters in multiple situations and navigate together. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book for these characters.
