I DEVOURED this book.

Simply refreshing.

I was in a book slump and decided to reread the first book (Tears of the Wolf) and then read the second book. I love the writing style and the thoroughness of the characters. Most importantly it obliterates a cliche trope (lead female is “strong and independent” but lacks understanding her love’s responsibilities and pitches a fit when he’s gotta do his duty) and replaced that horrid trope with a character like Brynn who not only loves Cenric in her own way she’s got his back even if she doesn’t understand his motives in the moment. LOVE THAT! It is rare that a solid healthy relationship is portrayed is such an organic way. Masterful job. Looking patiently forward to book 3.
