Unsit Desk Treadmill

I purchased this treadmill because it was the only option I could find with a belt wider than 20". My goal was to place a chair on top of it so I wouldn’t have to constantly rearrange my setup when switching between sitting and standing like I did with my narrower walkingpad. Unfortunately, it’s not well-suited for home use. The treadmill is extremely heavy and bulkier than necessary for just a few hours of daily walking. My husband and I had a tough time getting it into the house. The controls and safety tether also feel very outdated. When I saw that it had an app, I assumed I could eliminate the bulky controller and operate everything through the app for a cleaner, more streamlined setup. That’s not possible. The controller is permanently attached, and the dangling cords are unsightly, especially since my desk is centered in the room, forcing me to redesign my set up just to hide them. The controller itself isn’t very useful. It doesn’t display speed, distance, or time. It’s essentially just a huge on/off switch with a speed dial, but you have no idea what speed you’re actually setting. To see your speed or distance, you have to use the app, but the app can’t start or stop the treadmill or change the speed. It also doesn’t store walking history. If you walk, stop, and then come back later, all your data resets. You’ll need to mentally track what you’ve already walked, because that information will be gone. In short, you need both the controller and the app to get full functionality, yet neither works well on its own. For the price, the design and user experience are disappointing.
