Canned pickles and jelly over the weekend. 35 jars in total- every single one sealed. My first time using the Superb lids. I had some other name brand lids on hand but looking at them side by side there's no comparison. The sealent and the white coating lining the inside of the lid is thicker, the lid itself has less flex and feels sturdier. The thunk when the seal takes as you pull the jars out of the canner is substantial. I purchased the Baker's Dozen pack of lids which worked out to a lower price per lid (even with shipping!) than the name brand. These will be the lids I use going forward.

Superb lids seem more lids of the past, much more durable.. I appreciate that they can be boiled. Often I want to sterilize them. When I spoke to customer service at certain well known plastic container manufacturer who also manufactures several brands of lids I was told that I was not using the lids properly. I had called to talk about lid failures. I'm old enough to remember the same lids failing 50 years ago. It sounded like excuses. Superb lids do not pop down quickly, which I attribute to their sturdier build. But neither have I ever experienced a failure. And the baker's dozen is a great deal. Even with shipping costs it beats the other, inferior, brands in the stores.
