Solid Saddle Bags
These things are nice. Easy to zip, lots of cargo space, many pockets. Material seems tough, will see how they hold up. Only downside i see is that they are a tall pouch, so on my method 3 when i open and close the 2nd panel, they get in the way but its a small inconvenience.

Modular Saddle Pockets
These pockets check all the boxes for my saddle! I like the zippered pockets to secure tether and linesman rope. I secure my thumb release in the pockets for easy access when needed and can store my other essentials for quick access.
