Smooth masterpiece
The Odyssey delivers balanced sound in a very tasteful way. There are no harsh frequencies, and the sound isn't fatiguing or overwhelming in any way. There's a focus on bass, and even though some people might say the Odyssey needs more sub-bass, I feel that would simply change the overall tonal balance too much. The bass is punchy and tactile, and it has enough rumble to comfortably massage your brain. The mids feel natural, and although they have good energy, they never sound shouty or too aggressive. Could they be a bit more forward or energetic? Maybe, but at the same time, that could alter the Odyssey's identity a bit. The treble is smooth without being dark, and it is never piercing (this could vary depending on your ears, in which case different ear tips could help) and I also can't find any hints of sibilance. No, they aren't detail beasts (and they aren't trying to be), but they bring out enough details to keep you satisfied. Imaging and separation are quite good, and there is enough space between every instrument, which helps keep things cohesive and together. It is easy to hear every instrument separately, and you can locate them easily. The soundstage is still more intimate rather than super spacious, which can easily be justified by the bass boost, but there is never congestion or chaos. It sounds big, just not huge. Comfort for me could be a little better, but they never hurt my ears or cause a lot of discomfort over time. I am just aware I have them on. It is worth noting I have sensitive ears, but the right ear tips really help with that. The shells aren't too heavy, but they are a bit large. Be careful with the nozzle if you have narrow ear canals. They are extremely beautiful, with incredible details, amazing colors, and sparkle. Pair them with a Tripowin Moonshadow cable, and just fall in love. The Ziigaat Odyssey is an incredibly smooth, fun, and comfortable-sounding set. They are that warm hug you need sometimes. Volume scaling is amazing, making them super immersive at higher volumes (be careful with your hearing!!!). They will cause you to get lost in the melodies, taking you on a musical journey that will make you forget about the world for a bit. The Ziigaat Odyssey isn't perfect, but for the asking price, they might very well be one of the top picks on the market right now.
