Have used these binoculars a lot. This is my second pair after the first pair was stolen. I use them a lot for pelagic Birding. They take a lot of the motor and wind vibration out of the equation as well as my own handshake. It’s a game changer for me. I can see things that no one else on the boat can see. I also use them for land Birding. Again, I don’t know why every birder doesn’t use these things. I’ve been using stabilized binoculars for over 10 years now. I’ve used the canon pretty extensively 8, 10, 12 and 18 power. The kite bins are much better in several ways most notably, far better battery life better construction, and 4x greater angular correction capacity. The Canon 8 power were particularly flimsy in their construction. For birders who have never used them before, these binoculars takes some getting used to. They have an odd balance in the hand that takes a few days to get used to. Also, the image feels weird because it doesn’t react to small shakes in your hands. I think probably for birders who have extremely stable hands image stabilization may not be necessary.
