This book has been very helpful. It is a very straightforward and practical guide to better understanding and overcoming the major barriers to education that many of our students face.

The Title sets the stage for the subtitle, which is the best!

I have only worked through part of it but what I've seen is so far is very practical. I will find it especially helpful when supporting the Learning Assistants. I won't have to reinvent the wheel each time someone needs a quick chunk of information and/or strategy.

The breakdown of the concepts brought great clarity to areas where I felt like I was underperforming with my struggling students. I will definitely be implementing several of these thoughts in to my small groups next school year!
