I like Dependable strings a lot because they are much more durable than traditional gut, excellent humidity resistance, retains rich, warm, complex tone, and they are more stable tuning than standard gut strings.

I found an uncontrollable they would even squaw at times. I loved the gut tail piece cord.
I put the strings on in the beginning. They were hard to get good tone out of for me. I had to really focus on it after I let them on for about a week when I played them they got better sounding, but they were still very difficult to play I thought eventually the G string would sound good with the rest of the stringsperhaps. Perhaps I didn’t leave it on long enough. By the way, I absolutely love the tailpiece gut cord, they warmed up my sound and made my violin so responsive I tried both of them the ones with the varnish. The one with the varnish was very smooth. I liked it also and it’s true. If you use a cord that goes to the whole snuggly, the sound is much more direct which I like. I was not happy with the strings. I normally play Peter Infield strings.I play Contra dance gigs. I do harmonies and melodies. I couldn’t leave those strings on when I was performing. They were too unpredictable for me.
