Overall the functionality is superior to the Digitrax programmer. The interface is somewhat newer (Win 7) compared to the MFC/Win 95 interface of Digitrax. While the documentation is non-existent, they do include a piece of paper with their You Tube channel for setup and use. I recommend looking at those first before you start programming. Once you understand what is needed to flash the firmware and write BOTH the decoder settings and sound files, the Drivers' Cab is pretty sweet allowing manipulation while the unit is running. One issue that plagued me and was finally solved by asking Google AI, was the programming would constantly fail to write to the decoder about half-way through. This was due to attempts to program a blank decoder with the massive amount of sound files on units that have keep-alives. Google recommended pulling the decoder and program externally as the capacitor interferes with the programming. My work around was to use a spare decoder buddy mini I had, then hook up the ESU programmer to the track power pads on the mini. After that, no issues programming blanks.

Great product works well with my high over powered computer I can't wait to start converting my fleet to loksound better sound.

This programmer is the best works fabulous I should have gotten one of these sooner to program all my locos that have the lolksound decoders in them
