9PM Elixir is supposed to be the stronger, more intense version of Afnan’s 9PM line, and while it is definitely an upgrade over the regular 9AM, it still doesn’t do much for me.
It opens with a very sweet, almost boozy apple and cinnamon note that quickly dives into a heavy vanilla base. The vanilla is thick and syrupy, sitting right under everything like a sweet undernote that never really fades. It smells like a budget clone you’d grab last-minute from a gas station corner — loud, synthetic, and very gourmand.
To me, it gives off the vibe of a wild Tijuana night you really didn’t want to remember but somehow still do. It’s that kind of sweet, messy, over-the-top fragrance that tries hard to be sexy and club-ready but ends up feeling cheap and headache-inducing after a while.
Performance is strong (it definitely lasts and projects), but the scent itself just isn’t refined enough for me. Compared to the cleaner, fresher blue fragrances I actually like (like Versace Dylan Blue), this one feels too sugary and artificial.
