Godox V480 N TTL Li-ion Speedlite for Nikon

Excellent compact speedlight

It's nice to have a handy compact speedlight for small indoor events instead of having to drag out bigger gear. I really like this Godox V480 (N). The display is bright and the touchscreen makes it super easy to change power settings. The TTL function is excellent, producing strong, balanced light, and you can quickly reduce or increase the power using the touchscreen sliders. The rotating head helps with bounce flash to reduce harsh shadows, and fill-in flash for outdoor shots can be rapidly dialed back so as to be subtle and looking natural. Recycling time is fast, and the battery pack is convenient. (Note: it must be charged via USB cable while outside the flash. Also, I'd recommend that you purchase a 2nd (backup) battery pack). As a portable standalone on-camera (hotshoe-mounted) flash, I give it 5 stars. I've reduced the rating slightly to 4 stars because as a remote trigger (Sending Unit) to other Strobepro or Godox flashes, it is not at all intuitive to set up. For that you are better off using a dedicated trigger.

One odd thing is that the battery does not lock into place when inserted like the older Godox speedlights. It has to be held in place by the battery cover.
