Quiet Punch - Doorway Round Punching Bag

I have long awaited the delivery of my Doorway Round Punching Bag. I love it. However, the delay was supposed to be due to imperfections in the packaging. Despite the wait, the package arrived with a big hole gouged in the box. The contents were not in any way damaged, but the box most certainly was! In light of this I do not understand the supposed reason for the delay.

It's great, but too often you/your glove brushes the lower bar supporting the round bad when throwing an upper cut. Suggestions on how not to?
