MODE Backpack 22L

I did a lot of research when looking for an under the seat bag and decided on the Mode and it's served me well. Its design is thoughtful and efficient for a bag this size, just the right amount of pockets in the right places. On my body, its more comfortable and better balanced than any backpack I've owned before and when its not packed to the gills, it's suitable for everything you'd need for exploring the city or a day trip beyond. My favorite touches include the quick acces top pocket you can easily access while buckled in your seat, an inside zippered pocket that's perfect for securely stashing your passport, the sleeve for sliding over your luggage handle and accompanying side handle for making that transition quickly, the padded and divided tech sleeves in the back, the chest strap for added comfort, and the drawstring for securing the water bottle. This pack is perfect for my intended uses and its all the thoughtful and unique touches that i love about this bag.

An everyday carry with multiple lives and purposes

I bought this bag to double as a baby diaper bag and EDC for me. So far, I really like it. It definitely works better as an EDC, and it looks chic while it's at it, but it's also great so far as a baby bag. I can carry both a laptop/tablet and a diaper pad, have room for various baby care accessories, and still have space leftover for my extras. I like the volume, too: just big enough to carry essentials and still be comfortable. I do wish it had a second water bottle sleeve, and that one of the sleeves accommodated tumblers/thermoses with side handles. I don't like the pakt system when I'm trying to use the bag double duty, but they're helpful when I'm using the bag for a single purpose. We decided on this bag because both my husband and I feel comfortable carrying it, and we feel like it will last a long time given its functionality and neutral style.

Great bag but a major flaw

Bag has great form factor and compact. I like the green color and material. It is not a true 22 liter bag. I would say closer to 18-20 liter. The major flaw is the carry system. Walking all day with it while traveling resulted in shoulder soreness due to the straps not being padded and comfortable enough. The back panel should have air channels much like Aer or some other brand and it caused alot of sweating on the back.
